DALTON DISCOVERS THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
“You shall not commit adultery”
Dalton was thinking about when he and his mom looked up the Ten Commandments in the Bible. He remembered reading the Seventh Commandment but was not really sure what it meant. Dalton
thought, oh I can ask Homer!
...Homer explained that it is one of those things that we learn about and understand more as we get older. But, Homer did explain that God’s law says that when a man and a woman get married they
love each other in a special way, a way that God intended for
marriage to be.... “But I know my mom and dad love me too,” said Dalton.
“Yes, they do love you very much”, said Homer, “but it’s a different
kind of love, when you get married it’s a special love that only they
share for each other.”
When Dalton got home he told his mom and dad how Homer had
explained the Seventh Commandment to him.
...Before your mom and I were married we were two separate
people, now, even though you see us as two people, in God’s eyes He sees us as one....
Dalton was glad he had such a good friend as Homer and his mom and dad to help him understand the Ten Commandments.
The Bible gives the answers - all the answers. How blessed we are that God left His Word with us and how important it is to be obedient to God's command to share the Gospel - make sure our children understand what He says. That, yes, we do make mistakes and we can ask for forgiveness but our greatest goal to please God.
