starting, of course, with the First Commandment -
"YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME"
Dalton was so excited that it was recess time! Time for him to play with his electronic game. He was really quite anxious and was irritated that his classmates would not move any quicker to get out side! He found his favorite spot by the slide - he sat down and before he knew it the bell rang to go back inside.
On the way back in he met a boy that Dalton had not seen before. His name was Homer and he had never seen an electronic game before! Dalton was really surprised but told him all about it and how he would rather play that game than do anything else!
Walking back to the classroom Homer asked Dalton if he believed in God. "Oh, Yes!" he exclaimed. "Well," Homer started, "who do you think is more important, God or your handheld game?"
When Dalton and his mom and dad were eating supper that night, Dalton told them about Homer and his question...
They all discussed the fact that, YES, God was more important! Not only more important than the electronic game, but also more important than dad's television shows or mom's computer.
During their prayers that night they asked God to walk with them and take away the need to let other things become more important than they should be.
Talk with your children about the things that can become more important than our time spent with God and how to overcome it .
